However, the quiz show star ended the date in a brutal way[/caption]

Mark Labbett is best known for his role as one of the experts on the ITV game show, The Chase and Beat The Chasers.

On the Bradley Walsh hosted format, he is known for his savage takedowns of contestants who try to outsmart him.

However, it seems that despite the fact that Celebs Go Dating has no cash prizes, he seems just as brutal.

In one of the latest encounters, The Beast initially expressed nothing but pleasantries as the date came to a close.

He exclaimed: “I’m afraid it’s time to wrap up now, it’s been absolutely wonderful.”

When the lovely lady in front of him asked the quizzing expert if he would like to see her again, he let out a massive sign and things took a rather awkward turn.

She then sarcastically remarked: “Don’t you dare take a breath!”

Mark was slightly lost for words as he said, “Well, I … oh,” before the show’s humorous voice over artist even made a joke about the screen being frozen.

Eventually gathering the words to say, he explained: “You’re great. [But] I think Deanne is slightly ahead of you.

“I’m sorry I’m going to be brutally honest, if I hadn’t met Deanne, then yes.

“And it’s been great, [I’ve] really enjoyed this. But never say but after that, so I’ll just say I’ve really enjoyed this.”

He then nervously took a sip of water out of his cup as his date tucked into a doughnut.

With an icy look, she remarked: “Well, good luck Mark,” as the voiceover made another savage joke about saying the line with ‘feeling’.

Mark then added: “Thank you very much, but it’s been wonderful. Thank you, really enjoyed this.”

However, some viewers did come to Mark’s defence as they appreciated his honesty in the situation.

Another explained: “At least he’s honest [Crying with laughter emoji] Even if it’s brutally so lmao He’ll find someone who likes and appreciates his authentic and true self from the get go that way.”

As a fifth wrote: “He was honest. He met someone he liked more. I’d be grateful for the honesty instead of lying or ghosting.”

And a sixth user added: “Confused as to why people are saying he’s being blunt or rude, this is much better than being ghosted or led on! totally respect him for being honest from the get go [clapping hands emoji].
