The war of words quickly had viewers hooked as the battle for Liz Hurley’s fortune turned nastier than ever.

In last night’s explosive episode of The Inheritance, tensions boiled over as insults flew – with players branding each other “dramatic,” an “attention seeker” and even slamming one rival for having “lack initiative.”
Fronted by Robert Rinder alongside glam Liz Hurley as the show’s Deceased, the Channel 4 show will see a number of contestants battle it out to get their hands on her fortune.
Each episode sees Liz set the group a task which they must fulfil.
Contestants complete challenges to try to win the fortune left in The Deceased’s will, with Rob Rinder as the lawyer.
They must work together to do the best they can do for the best chance at winning the money.
However, only one person is eligible to win the entire prize fund as the sole beneficiary of the estate.
This is decided amongst the group who must volunteer themselves to be the ‘winner’ based on how much they contributed to the group’s overall performance.
A fiery moment last night saw chess teacher Pat telling her teammates she was the manager of the group task.
Pat said: “I took the role managing the whole process, we had a production line that was brillant.”
However, health and well-being advisor Tia disagreed and chimed in: “I’m so sorry Aunty Pat, I just feel like you saying you were the manager of the group, is the reason you should not be in that chair.”
She added: “You guys let us down so much, and I feel like that is because of the lack of initiative in the room.”
Gaynor couldn’t help get involved as she said: “Tia, you’re bring dramatic just to make yourself center of attention.”
Tia hit back saying: “I never require attention, it comes to me naturally.”
Pat concluded: “We had hampers ready. We had no produce from you.”
Ultimately, James was the first player to be eliminated.
He left with just £200 won from The Deceased’s will, having missed out on potentially banking thousands.
Meanwhile, Hafsah was named Prime Beneficiary by her fellow players and joined The Deceased’s Executor, Rob Rinder, in the strong room to receive her share of the Inheritance.
She told the group she was going from “strength to strength” and doesn’t “complain” and the other players agreed.
Hafsah chose to keep £2,400 for herself, telling The Executor that she would deceive the others and tell Cam, Emma, Hannah, Catherine and Jesse she has gifted them all £200 each when she has, in fact, given them nothing.
She said: “You can’t hate the player, hate the game!”
Viewers rushed to social media to accuse Hafsah of being “greedy,” while some comended her for playing the game.
One wrote: “Hafsah has decided to be greedy.”
Another added: “Let’s go Hafsah! Finally somebody playing the game how it should be played.”
A third penned: “Hafsah knows how to play the game, fair play to her. sharing the money to useless players is pointless.”
The Inheritance has bombed with viewer ratings with the show scraping just 464,890 viewers on Sunday night — one of the lowest reality debuts for Channel 4.
And it was declared a flop by those who did sit through it.
Ironically, the first episode was even beaten by a cold case murder documentary on BBC2.
Murder Case: Who Killed Kiesha, covering the real tragic death of mum-of-two Kiesha Donaghy in Elgin, Moray, in 2023, drew in 499,680.
It comes from The Traitors’ makers Studio Lambert but could be its second C4 flop, after Rise And Fall was axed just after one series in 2023.
The Inheritance airs on Channel 4 on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday night.
