They fell in love on the seventh series of the ITV2 reality show and were crowned the winners.
In an episode of their podcast Liam and Millie, the pair recounted a row they’d had on Millie’s 25th birthday.
Liam’s pals from Wales, whom he hadn’t seen for months, made the trip down to Essex for the party that night.
Liam and Millie spent the morning together, before his friends arrived.
He caught up with his mates for five hours before they all got ready for the party.
Not too impressed, Millie recounted: “I had to go to my party alone. He didn’t even invite me.”
Liam argued they had lived together and woken up together that morning.
He added: “It’s giving very, very needy.”
Millie shot back: “The f**k? If you went to the pub with your mates and turned up at 8pm, I actually think I’d dump you.”
A source close to the couple exclusively told The Sun Online: “Millie and Liam have tried so hard to make their relationship work.
“But unfortunately, the distance was just difficult and they have sadly ended their relationship for a second time.
“Obviously, they’ve worked things out before, so friends are hoping this might just be a blip as it’s all still very fresh.
“But right now they are spending time apart. Everyone who loves them hopes they can work it out.”
The Sun approached reps for the pair and Millie’s spokesperson declined to comment.
At the time of their first split, Millie said on Instagram: “Hi everyone, to avoid any speculation Liam and I wanted to share with you that we have separated.
“It’s been a tough decision and I am gutted but it’s ultimately what is best for us right now.
“Thank you to every single one of you for supporting our relationship.
“Nothing will ever take away from the amazing experience we shared in Love Island and the past year and I wish Liam all the best in everything he does.
“We’re both ready for new chapters and I’m excited for what’s next. Love, Millie.”
