But just hours later, the 30-year-old was tragically found dead.
Police are treating her death as non-suspicious but the exact circumstances have not yet been publicly disclosed.
Abigail, who was a successful dressage rider who won at the prestigious Horse of the Year Show, was planning to relocate to Australia with Mr Garside, the Mail reported.
The couple had advertised their Lancashire home up for would-be tenants and had nabbed visas ahead of a scheduled October move down under.
Mrs Garside had told of her excitement on social media, posting a picture on August 1 of the couple in Melbourne, captioned: “We’ve been keeping a secret. This is our new future home.”
The same day, Mr Garside posted on Instagram: “It’s been a long 6 month process but we are officially Australia bound!
“Visas approved. House secured. A whole new chapter and adventure begins.”
Meanwhile, Abigail shared a heartbreaking “happy anniversary” post from Harrogate, North Yorkshire, the day before her death.
Her husband also shared wedding pictures online captioned: “One year since you became my wife!! I love you more and more everyday, happy anniversary.”
But he later shared the devastating news of Abigail’s death.
Sharing a photo of the loved-up couple, he wrote: “My absolute world, my best friend and my beautiful darling wife.
“I will love you forever and you will never leave my heart xxx.”
She was found in gardens in the heart of Harrogate shortly after 6.15am on August 18.
North Yorkshire Police said they don’t believe there were any suspicious circumstances.
The couple married at the Crow Wood Hotel and Spa resort in Burnley, Lancashire, on August 17 last year.
At the time, Abigail said she was marrying “the man of my dreams”.
The couple were seen beaming at the camera in photos from the day, posing with their dogs and laughing as they cut the wedding cake.
Heartbroken friends paid tribute to the “most talented, bubbly and beautiful girl”.
Abigail was a prominent equestrian, winning at the Horse of the Year Show in 2019, the Mail reported.
Ribble Valley Riding Club paid tribute to their member, saying she will be “sadly missed by everyone in the horse world”.
A fundraiser has been set up in Abigail’s memory, with donations going to the mental health charity Mind and the Dog’s Trust.
The page reads: “This site is a tribute to Abigail Garside, who was born on November 24, 1994. She is much loved and will always be remembered.
“We hope that you find this tribute to Abigail a place of comfort, support and inspiration for you to visit whenever you want or need to.”
