Xiao Guodong clinched last year’s title by beating Si Jiahui 10-7 in a thrilling showpiece match.

But the Chinese superstar will need to fight tooth and nail if he is to retain his crown in Wuhan with the biggest names in the business featuring.
Judd Trump was one of the household names who participated, but the World No1 went crashing out in the last 16 at the hands of Gary Wilson.
Snooker legend Ronnie O’Sullivan did not feature as he has pulled out due to medical reasons.
